Ben Hopkins

Born in Hong Kong. Grown in North London. Studied at Oxford and the Royal College of Art. Has lived in Istanbul, now lives in Berlin. Ben Hopkins is a novelist, screenwriter and film-maker. His novel Cathedral was published in 2021, and he has made feature films, documentaries and short films that have been shown and awarded in festivals such as Berlin, Locarno, Toronto, Tribeca, Antalya, Toronto Hot Docs and Sitges. His documentary feature In Search of Monsters was awarded an Emmy in the category ‘International Current Affairs’. His other films include Simon Magus, The Nine Lives of Tomas Katz, The Market, 37 Uses for a Dead Sheep and Hasret: Sehnsucht.
