| Philip OCeallaigh is again nominated for the Frank O'Connor Prize 2009 for his second story collection, The Pleasant Light of Day, published by Penguin Ireland in February. His first collection, Notes From a Turkish Whorehouse, was shortlisted in 2006, and was awarded the Rooney Prize and the Glen Dimplex New Writer Award. He joins Charlotte Grimshaw, Wells Tower, Simon Le Booy, Petina Gappah and Shih-Li Kow on the list. The winner will be announced in September. |
