Kevin Barry has been named as the recipient of the 2007 Rooney Prize for Irish Literature at a special reception in the Provost's house at Trinity College, Dublin where he was given his 10,000 euro cheque on 10th October. Previous winners include Anne Enright, Hugo Hamilton, Colum McCann, Claire Keegan, Claire Kilroy, Nick Laird and Philip O Ceallaigh. Kevin's collection of stories, There Are Little Kingdoms, is published by The Stinging Fly Press, and is on its third printing.
