Catherine O'Flynn's brilliant debut novel What Was Lost joins four other titles on the shortlist for the Guardian First Book Award.  The award recognises new writing from all disciplines.  She joins Dinaw Mengestu, Tahmima Anam, Rosemary Hill, and Rajiv Chandrasekeran, and the winner will be announced on 5th December 2007.
